3rd St. ALT is the second exclusive house beer at the Downey Brewing Company. Our brewmaster has created a unique style of beer that is not very prevalent in the Southern California area. ALT is the name given to a form of German top-fermenting beer. The name alt, which literally means (old style beer) refers to the pre-lager brewing methods of using a warm top-fermenting yeast.
