Use of inorganic and organic inhibition additives, their effects and their technological meaning in the malting process

Out of the conventional malting proceedings as it is done in Germany because of
the German purity law there can be added various substances during the malting
process. The substances can be added to the steeping water, sprayed on the
grains or can be added to the ventilation air. The main reasons why additives are
given is to decrease the malting losses caused by rootlets growth and
respiration. Most additives increase their effects in combination with giberrelic
acid (GA).
