Pilsen Type Beers

There are so many pilsen type beers out there that I can't count them anymore. Some brewmasters told me that the speciality about the pilsener beer is the water. Is this the real truth? I mean: Can I brew a pilsen type beer at home?

Yes, you can. Ok, at some point the water is important but you also need to care for the other. Get the right malt, hops and yeast and get your process steady. Emphasis on temperature, rests and times. Let us know what you achieved!
