Keisari Dark - Nokian panimo poured in a glass

Now its getting Dark - Keisari Dark

Keisari Dark

On my fridge is a line of beers, actually two. They are added one after another in accordance with their best before date. The one that is due next is the first in line. In 2016 I had to throw away about 10 beers because I simply kept them somewhere where I forgot about them. Besides the money they costs me they were simply good beers (I suppose). So, this is not going to happen again.

I got a box of Nokian Panimo beers when I went for a visit for their birthday. So, the next beer in line was the Keisari Dark. I poured it into a glass from a can. It had a nice white to very light brown foam which was pretty stable over some time. From the first nip I got a malty aroma, a very mild bitterness and of course no off-flavours. It basically starts with a nice sweetness and ends with a lite hanging bitterness. Inbetween there are some different tastes, perhaps a little chocolate, a little coffee and caramel, basically meillard reaction compounds.

It is not my favourite beer and it is not for the enthusiast, but it is a pretty good beer for those who have had enough of the basic beers and for those that buy beers from lower end of the price range of speciality beers.
