Neito Golden Ale poured from a bottle

Neito Golden Ale

As you might remember I had an IPA from the Mustan Virran Panimo some time ago. It wasn't that good and as I had another one from them in my stash I opened it and.

Holy shit, same thing again. Total harsh bitterness, the body gone, thin, watery. The beer that probably was still there was gone when I tasted it.

The beer I tasted went through a process called autolysis. The yeast basically ate all the sugars it was able to eat and then, when no food was left, started to eat itself. That is when it released a harsh bitterness into the beer and also left the beer with nearly no sugars back. An empty bitter shelf.

Dear Brewmaster of the Mustan Virran Panimo: you have a problem with your microbiological stability. Your beers are not stable enough for the current shelf life time. You have to first remove the shelf life time of your current products by at least 2 month. Then we should start to review your entire brewing process from wort production to fermentation to bottling. Call me if you need help. Seriously! I can help you.
