Medvejie Stout

Baranof Island Brewing Company | Stout

Medvejie Lake, south of Sitka, is tough as far as lakes go. The steep cliffsides surrounding the glacial lake give it a frequent wind tunnel effect, and it's only accessible by foot or float plane. Derived from the Russian word for bear, Medvejie is pronounced meh-duh-VEE-gee locally (but probably not in Russia). Our stout is also strong like the bear. Fueled by flaked oats, roasted barley and chocolate malts, it also packs some heat with 7.25% ABV.
